Be Generous this Giving Tuesday

Although it’s great to think about giving all through the year, it’s especially encouraging that there is one special day, right around the Thanksgiving holiday, where everybody chooses to think just a little bit harder, and a little bit more intentionally, about the value of being generous, being thankful, and being able to give to help others.

This Thanksgiving Tuesday, we are so excited to announce our latest partnership with Compassion United. For those of you that don’t know, Compassion United have served Montgomery County and North Houston for over a decade, reaching out to those less fortunate; the homeless, the overlooked, and people in general need.

Led by Luke and Karla Redus, this organization has done tremendous work, so much so that the city of Conroe recently worked with them to find a 5 acre parcel of land the ministry could use. Since that happened they’ve been hard at work on a project called Miracle City. I can’t tell you how amazing it is to be friends with people working on something so incredible. On a personal level, just to see such a grand idea here in our backyard, looking to find ways to help others in a self-sustaining and meaningful way is simply breathtaking.

At WorkLodge, through our nonprofit partnership with the Gabriel Project, we're excited this #GivingTuesday to announce a $100,000 donation towards the Miracle City project. This donation will help fund a new building that will enable this development to grow into the self-sustaining ecosystem it’s destined to become. This incredible organization will be able to bring people in who need help and have nowhere else to go. They will give those in need somewhere to live, an education and taught practical skills, and even give them an opportunity to work- all within one single campus based off highway 75, in Conroe, TX.

This is a project that will take years to come to fruition, but will be built in stages, one building at a time and it’s such an honor and a blessing to be able to partner with so many others who’ve already committed and made donations to bring this dream into reality.
